Major General (Ret.) Clay Hutmacher
Major General Hutmacher currently serves as the Director of Operations, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida.
Major General Hutmacher was born in Wenatchee, Washington. He entered military service 1 January 1978, as a private in the U.S. Marine Corps. In May 1984, he transferred to the Army after being accepted into the Warrant Officer Flight Training Program.
Major General Hutmacher was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Aviation in October 1987. Following graduation from Officer Candidate School and the Aviation Officers Basic Course, his first assignment was with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Group (Airborne), as the Headquarters and Service Company Executive Officer, and later as the MH-60 Direct Action Penetrator Platoon Leader, Delta Company. He has since served three tours with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment to include Executive Officer of 1st Battalion, Commander of 1st Battalion, Regimental Commander, and the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command.
Other assignments include: 2nd Infantry Division Deputy Commanding General for Support, Assistant Commmanding General for Special Operations Forces Mobility, North Atlantic Treating Organization Training Mission, Afghanistan/Combined Security Transition Command; the U.S. Air Force 55th Special Operations Squadron, as the Squadron Tactics Officer, Instructor Pilot, and Flight Commander; Troop Command and S3 of the Flight Concepts Division; and Commander of 5th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, and Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
Major General Hutmacher and his wife Amy have three sons, Matthew, Mitchell, and Mac.
GEN (Ret.) Raymond A. Thomas III
11TH COMMANDER, US SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND
GEN (Ret.) Raymond A. Thomas III formerly served as the 11th Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
Prior to assuming command of USSOCOM, GEN (Ret.) Thomas served as Commander, Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), Fort Bragg, N.C.
GEN (Ret.) Thomas’ other assignments as a general officer include: Associate Director for Military Affairs at the Central Intelligence Agency; Commanding General, NATO Special Operations Component Command – Afghanistan; Deputy Commanding General, JSOC; Deputy Director for Special Operations, The Joint Staff in the Pentagon; Assistant Division Commander, 1st Armor Division in Iraq; and Assistant Commanding General, JSOC.
Prior to being promoted to brigadier general, GEN (Ret.) Thomas also served as the JSOC Chief of Staff and Director of Operations. His other formative and key, joint and special operations assignments include: Commander, Joint Task Force – Bravo, Soto Cano, Honduras; Commander, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Savannah, Ga.; and Commander, B Squadron, 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment – Delta, Fort Bragg, N.C.
He is a graduate of the US Army War College, Carlisle, Penn., and the Naval Command and Staff College, Newport, R.I.
GEN (Ret.) Thomas is a native of Philadelphia, Pa. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and was commissioned an Infantry second lieutenant upon graduation in 1980.
GEN (Ret.) Thomas and his wife Barbara have two sons, both of whom are United States Military Academy graduates, Tony (Class of 2007) and Michael (Class of 2008).
GEN (Ret.) Thomas retired May 2019 and resides with his wife in the Tampa Bay area. He is currently serving as the Chairman of Special Operations Warrior Foundation and on boards and in advisory positions in the aviation and Artificial Intelligence fields.
Roger Nanney
Roger recently retired as the Vice Chairman of Deloitte LLP. He currently serves as a Board member and Audit Committee Chair at Priority 1.
Since joining Deloitte in 1982, and as a partner for 30 years, Roger held a number of leadership positions, including US National Managing Partner for Deloitte Private, Chief Operating Officer for Deloitte US Clients & Industries, a member of the US and Americas Operating Committees, and Mid-America Regional Managing Partner. Throughout his career he worked with clients across a number of industries and geographies. His extensive experience serving both mid-size and private companies and multinational public organizations has provided a broad and in-depth understanding of the challenges clients face in today’s ever-changing business environment.
Roger is active in his community and serves several civic organizations. He is a board member and immediate Past Chair of the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, Texas and a trustee and Vice Chairman of the University of South Carolina Business Partnership Foundation. Roger is also a trustee of the PGA of America Foundation.
A CPA and CMA, Roger received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Management Accountants.
